Feature Film: Blue is the Warmest Color

I’d say not all audience will like this kind of stuff but this film is the only 3 hour film that made me watch it till its end  without being too focused of them being lesbians but seeing and feeling the love the two main characters shared. It wouldn’t be that  great if not of  the astounding performances of Adele Exarchopoulos and Lea Seydoux. Controversial yet one  the best film I’ve watched last year.

Feature Film: Ginger And Rosa

g

A coming of age film about two best friends inseparable since birth and whose friendship was tested as they grow as teenagers. It was a great film, actually. What I don’t understand and is trying to comprehend though is, why Ginger doing what she’s doing? I would understand at first why she’s not saying anything when she’s hurt but God, after what her father and her best-friend did to her? I can’t stand seeing her suffering and not doing something about it. I pity her and at the same time mad at her.

h

I was already cursing at the screen during this part of the film. I wanted to slap her best friend and father for her. I wanted to do that for her. Why??? Why just cry and not say anything? I’m starting to hate her at the end of the film and thought that part weakened the whole plot. But no, I don’t want to dwell on that. I  want to convince myself that there’s an underlying message the film director or the writer wants to pass to her audience. And then it hit me. When Ginger expresses her anxiety over nuclear wars and the end of the world, one of her godfather begged her to grow up and be a woman for a moment. When you are at the age of still finding yourself, you sometimes get lost in the way and would react differently to the situation. Growing up can be pretty hard. Just like Ginger’s case. And like her godfather, we can only wish the same for her. To grow up and be a woman sooner.

I have to point out Elle Fanning and Alice Englert’s performance in this movie. Amazing young talented actresses. Especially knowing Elle was 13 when they filmed this.  And oh, i thought the movie title should be “Ginger” since it shows in the movie more of her story or thought.

Song of the Day: Tegan & Sara – Now I’m All Messed Up

TeganAndSarahIWasAFool1

I believe this album was released last year but it was the first time  today that I heard one of their singles , Now I’m All Messed Up. It was actually surprising to know this song coming from the twins. This one is comprehensible  compared to their usual outfit. Openly written, so raw and emotional.

About the song, it’s that phase in your life where you ask yourself at what point can you say enough is enough with someone? It’s like Adele’s Turning Tables but the difference is, this song chooses to still go on and buy that ticket to the roller coaster ride of emotions with this person. Guess it was explained at the last part of the song where Sara screams “Go!” and Tegan says “Please Stay…” (That’s my favorite part actually..hehe) It’s like saying you want to be alone but what you really mean is, I need you here with me, you don’t have to do anything. Just be here. That’s enough for me.

Anyways, to explain further from the songwriters themselves on how the song was created, the Quin sisters, ladies and gentlemen:

Have a listen:

Stay
You’ll leave me in the morning anyway
My heart
You’ll cut it out, you never liked me anyway
Why do you take me down this road
If you don’t want to walk with me?
Why do you exit, go it alone
When you could just talk to me?

Now I’m all messed up
Sick inside, wondering where
Where you’re leaving your makeup
Now I’m all messed up
Sick inside wondering who
Whose life you’re making worthwhile

Go, go, go if you want
I can’t stop you
Go if you want
I can’t stop you

Sad
You come back to me always anyway
Leave a mark
You say you never really loved her anyway
Why do I take this lonely road
Nobody here to walk with me
Don’t want to start fresh all over again
Why won’t you just comfort me?

Now I’m all messed up
Sick inside, wondering where
Where you’re leaving your makeup
Now I’m all messed up
Sick inside wondering who
Whose life you’re making worthwhile

Go, go, go if you want
I can’t stop you
Go if you want
I can’t stop you

Now I’m all messed up
I’m sick inside, wondering where
Where you’re leaving your makeup
Now I’m all messed up
Sick inside wondering who
Whose life you’re making worthwhile

Song of the Day: Generationals – When They Fight They Fight

a0923376401_2

They say it’s the sweetest when you had just a fight with your girlfriend/boyfriend and make up after. This song illustrates it. It’s like two people who fight real hard over things and in the end say peace to one another because they love each other so much.  The melody lives up to the lighting up the air after a big fight.

When they fight, they fight
And when they come home at night they say,
“i love you, baby.”

Was it too much too soon,
Or too little too late?
He got the message she left on his car, in the rain.

And then the words they come to you,
driving away.
You just can’t let it go.

And when they fight, they fight,
And when they come home at night they say,
“i love you, baby.”

And when it all comes crashing down,
what can you do,
to find what you’re looking for?
And then the words will come to you,
driving through the rain.

But there’ll be no one there to say them to anyway.

Feature Film: Chuck & Sarah Favorite Kissing Scene

I miss my dose of CHUCK and this scene from episode 21 of season 2 is my favorite favorite favorite ever. The song, the kiss, the touch, this scene is just OH MY GOD I’M GOING TO DIE IN KILIG RIGHT NOW. I love Chuck and Sarah as much as I love their love and the show. Chuck is just so adorable and Sarah is so sexy.

It’s kind of an old show and it actually ended at season 7 I think. It’s an action-drama, spy-comedy television series starred by Zachary Levi and Yvonne Strahovski. If you haven’t watched it, read this and check out the series. You’ll get hooked.
